Market Opportunity

Lighting systems are used in post-production within the cinematic industry. These lighting systems may use a large number of light sources. Without the use of powerful and costly processing systems, it can be challenging to control the light sources to achieve a particular effect. Other issues currently faced by the industry when using complex systems are overheating, calibration issues, lack of HDR support, and hardware that cannot keep up with the rapidly changing light settings.

USC Solution

USC researchers have developed a lighting system capable of post-production relighting and facial scanning. The lights can be programmed, synced and controlled from one master board. The multiple-LED approach used allows for easy maintenance and a relatively low cost.
